I am a Health Educator at Southcentral Foundation, Anchorage, AK. I grew up in the village of Larsen Bay on Kodiak Island. I am of Alutiiq and European decent. I am a very big supporter of Native tradition and storytelling to pass on our culture and way of life to our children. It is very important to me that children have culturally relevant curriculum, as I know if leads to an overall sense of value and pride. I am also a Native jewelry designer.
"There are some things in life we cannot have control over, but we can change how we think about them. We can adapt, persevere and overcome." - Me
I am a Tlingit originally from Southeast Alaska; love taking photos and turning them into inspirational posters; woodcarving and beading. I am passionate about creating culturally-relevant ways on how to deal with cancer, and I believe in the healing power of storytelling.
