My name is Chris and I am a survivor. I know life becomes very difficult when you first hear those words - 'you have cancer'. I hope my story will give courage and faith to anyone that is the same position that I was in 2003. I felt like I had been given a death sentence but as it turns out - I am still around. I love my job as a cancer registrar. It is a sad job at times but also very rewarding job, especially when I see the drop in statistics on new cancer cases. While you are in treatment and afterwards, please reach out to others so they may benefit from your story. This is a great site. You are not alone!!
This training was a gathering of youth from Cook Inlet and Togiak who came together and share stories related to the problem of obesity and other health issues affecting young people in rural Alaska today. Sponsored by UNITY, these stories will be part of a advocacy campaign to promote understanding and healthy solutions.
