Vice Provost and Professor Emerita at the University of Denver. Will be engaged in a Social Justice digital storytelling project in spring 2011, and plan to begin a project in Dharmasala India November 2010.
Have taught writing and love to write, and believe that narratives and stories have the power to change and save lives.
I'm a Turkish woman living in Denver, CO. I am a psychotherapist & art therapist working in private practice. I go back to Turkey yearly to visit family and give art therapy related workshops. I recently took the 3-day digital storytelling workshop in Denver, and find it to be an amazing fit to art therapy, which uses art materials / media and the art process to help people explore and work through their psychic struggles.
I'm a journalist, currently with the Denver Post. I'm keenly interested in obituaries and life stories, and I see digital storytelling as a superlative way to capture a snapshot of an individual's life.
I maintain blogs.denverpost.com/coloradosudaze on an erratic basis; it's mostly links to odd stories in Colorado's regional newspapers.
I also frequently contribute to Dave Barry's blog, which resulted in the creation -- by jealous submitters whose links didn't make it to Dave's blog -- of noiamnotclairemartin.blogspot.com, which just thrills me to pieces! Someone hated me enough to make a blog about me! Although the blogger kinda got over it, and now just uses it as a regular blog.
