Teachers today, in some
Teachers today, in some classrooms (not all), are power hungry. Yelling at students when they aren't understanding a skill. It is not our role to discipline the students, but rather to embrace their individuality and work with them. The more a teacher yells at a student, the more likely the student will act out or their progress won't be good. It is time that teachers form relationships with their students, we are supposed to be the people a student can trust. A person they can talk to when they need or someone they can come to with a question on homework without feeling "stupid" for asking questions over what other students may have an easy time with.
great video.
I think teachers can succumb
I think teachers can succumb to frustration. We are pressured by administrations parents and students and even our own career paths. At times teaching seems a thankless job, the story reflects the decisions this teacher made and helps gives me optimism when I begin begin to soul search.
Many teachers do get
Many teachers do get frustrated with all the requirements and deadlines of teaching that have been more difficult throughout the years. All the mandated testing and the overload of work the teachers are suppose to teach their children in a amount of time and the pressure to make sure that all their students are in a certain level is crucial. Yes, teachers are not supposed to take out their frustration on their students, they need to learn to have a positive outlet to release their tension. Teachers need to be good examples to their children and build positive relationships, and once we do that they learn to respect us more and they make an effort to learn.
