what a touching story
I'm so sorry for your lost, i know that this must be very difficult to deal with but im so glad you are making something out of yourself. im from a small town so the "gangs" there are nothing compared to the reality you grew up in. i also have two people that are in the military and im very proud of them, i think we all are. so i bet your family is extremely proud that you changed your life around. & today you can speak to others that are in the same situation as you once were and help them changed their lives as well.

Your story was very touching and I can relate to your life. I too have lived in a violent setting were I've have lost loved ones also. I'm sorry that you lost your sister, but I'm glad you were able to leave that life and better yourself for you and your family. I'm glad you can express your life style and try to encourage others going in that same path because that’s not a life to live. The military is an honorable and respectable profession and I'm happy that you made a positive change.
