In the City

Storyteller: Jason Chu

This is my story about my transition from a suburban neighborhood to the streets of urban Boston. As an Asian American growing up with typical Asian parents, I had many expectations and obligations. To my surprise, my life was turned upside down once I entered the spontaneous lifestyle of Boston's Chinatown. I had become a true city boy with no regrets.

Biography:

I work as the education coordinator for the Red Oak After school program in Boston's Chinatown and I was invited to join a workshop on digital storytelling presented by MassIMPACT. I thought it would be a great project for some of the older students in Red Oak to do and to have them tell their life stories through digital means.
