Take A Walk in My Shoes

Watch this video!
Storyteller: Jamaine Del-Rosario

This story, by "Smokey," is a true story written for a class project, that he turned into a digital story as part of his work at the Camfield Technology Center this summer. It uses spoken word and repetition of the phrase "take a walk in my shoes," to emphasis his feelings of disappointment of having to move to a one bedroom apartment in the projects with his family of seven. It happened because his mom got into trouble with the law and they lost everything.

This is a story about me (age 17), describing my beach house and who I would bring. The house is in Florida, and I feel calm when I'm there. It also includes discussion about whether I would change anything about it.

I made this story as part of my job as a Youth Leader at the Camfield Estates Technology Center, in the South End of Boston, MA.
