Biography:

Ms. Suzanne EL-Moursi was born in Cairo, Egypt. Suzanne is an Innovation Strategist and User Experience thought leader who specializes in the design of compelling user experiences by first applying dynamic design research methodologies that investigate the unique social and cultural aspects of end user segments. Through her unique approach to “gaining insight and greater intelligence” about how people live, work and play, she drives innovative products and service offerings that fulfill the aspirations and unmet needs of identified customer segments. Her passion lies within planning and executing design research initiatives, which reveal insights into customer behavior, aspirations, unarticulated needs and expectations to lead product strategy. Suzanne focuses on translating cultural and social research insights, from both design research and customer segmentation data, into distinctive competitive advantages for product and service offerings. Suzanne holds a Master's degree in Computer Science with a concentration in Human-Computer Interaction. Her graduate research was on designing multilingual technology and interactive user interfaces for users who speak a non-Latin language and English. Since that time, Suzanne has worked for a variety of international corporations, including IBM Global Services, HSBC Bank, and University of Chicago, on a variety of international projects. She has led multiple international user experience and ethnography efforts in Africa, Middle East, and Europe in Arabic and English. Currently, Suzanne is a Principal leading the Interaction Design team within the Global Design organization at GE Healthcare. The Global Design team is comprised of both the Interaction Design Group and Industrial Design team. Global Design is a Research and Innovative Design destination, an internal competency team inside GE Healthcare, leading the transformation of healthcare product development to be centered on insights revealed from User-centered Design research. As Principal Suzanne is transforming and advancing the next generation of healthcare business strategies and healthcare products through insightful understanding of customer and user requirements to meet user needs in mature and emerging markets. Ms. Suzanne is married to Dr. Bassel Ericsoussi, Interventional Pulmonologist and Critical Care Physician, and live in downtown Chicago, IL. She enjoys spending time with her family, outdoor cycling, photography and cooking. She frequently travels to Europe and Middle East to visit her family. Ms. EL-Moursi also enjoys teaching and is Adjunct Faculty at DePaul University and Illinois Institute of Technology (Institute of Design), both located in Chicago, IL.
