How the Bay Area Has Influenced Us

Storyteller: Nola | Arnaldo

This digital story was created by Nola and Arnaldo, two teen members from different Clubhouses in the Bay Area (CA) who reflected on how the culture and environment of the place that they live influences them to act, create, and lead. It features mostly photos downloaded off their MySpace pages and original music by Arnaldo. This story was created as part of the digital storytelling track at the 2006 Intel Computer Clubhouse Teen Summit.

Collaborators:

Facilitated by Intel Computer Clubhouse managers and Danielle Martin from the CTC VISTA Project. For more information on this workshop, check out Danielle's VISTA blog. This story is also posted on Blip.tv at http://blip.tv/file/56051.

The facilitators had the great challenge of working with only 11 laptops and four languages (French, Russian, Latin American Spanish, and English; not counting the quick and heavily accented Irish of Jimi from Belfast) and only three days to create a bunch of meaningful digital stories. All of these teens however are the cream of the Clubhouse crop, so once they got into their groups of 2 or 3 and chose a theme, most of them were able to create some cohesive stories about common things they cared about including sports, making digital art, dancing, and their favorite memories.
