Renee Harding created this story about her recovery from substance abuse as part of the Better Questions, Better Decisions Voter Education Initiative prior to the 2004 elections. In it she calls for greater investment in drug prevention as opposed to enforcement. Better Questions, Better Decisions stories reflect attitudes towards voting by populations that traditionally have low voter turnout. This workshop was held at Pima College Adult Education in Tucson, Arizona for GED and ESOL students. Participants chose an experience that related the personal impact of public decision making. These stories are currently used as voter education tools in various settings throughout the country.
