I am an essayist, culture critic, journalist and creative writing teacher, with a focus on the personal essay and memoir. In my work, I'm particularly interested in the emotional lives of men. I'm currently at work on an essay collection that touch on some of these themes explored in my digital story, as well as early 1980s suburban culture, monster movies, and more. I'm a contributor to places like the NYTimes and Washington Post, as well as the editor of the award-winning anthology, Lost Tribe: Jewish Fiction from the Edge.
