This video is the introduction to a set of 12 digital narratives called "Information Stories" that appear, along with a concluding video, here.  They focus on the questions:  What's at stake when local news and information flow doesn't serve all members of a community equally well? How can people respond?

Biography:

I am the Jacob E. Davis and Jacob E. Davis II Chair in Law at Ohio State University, where I teach and write about both separation of powers law and "e-democracy." In 2008-09, I served as Executive Director to the Knight Commission on the Information Needs of Communities in a Democracy.  My new and recent books include Connecting Democracy:  Online Consultation and the Flow of Political Communication (with Stephen Coleman) (MIT Press 2011), Madison's Nightmare:  How Executive Power Threatens American Democracy (University of Chicago 2009), and Democracy Online:  The Prospects for Political Renewal Through the Internet (Routledge 2004).  With Liv Gjestvang, I launched the Information Stories project.
