Bonile recounts his journey from lack of awareness to knowledge about HIV/AIDS, beginning with his initiation as a man, continuing through to a painful breakup with a girlfriend and a phase of being a “player,” and concluding with publicly coming out as an HIV+ prevention activist, amidst the climate of stigma and denial pervasive in South Africa. The story was created at a CDS 4-day hands-on workshop held in Cape Town.
