In this story, Doreen reflects on her history of drug and alcohol use and the tactics she used to keep social services at bay – until she realized her life needed to change. Her struggle to overcome addiction, reunite with her children, and reclaim her life is truly inspiring. The story was created in a CDS hands-on 4-day workshop with parents who have been involved with the child welfare system.
