The Middle of The Story

Watch this video!

"The Middle of the Story" by filmmaker Sojourner 4 Truth discusses the impact of colorism and negative media images on African Americans in general, and African American girls in particular.  It also highlights the importance of culture, history and family in reshaping how we see one another.  This an excellent primer for discussions on race, gender, skin color, body image and self-esteem.  Highly recommended for cross-cultural conversations as well as conversations between males and females.

Watch this video!
Storyteller: Kristin Koptiuch

Digital ethnography inspired by my interdisciplinary urban studies course, Learning From South Phoenix, a collaborative research adventure into the dramatically changing urban culture and social space of South Phoenix, Arizona. why is the society not happy based on what they look like?

Asians

Storyteller: Ginny

This clip is based on my perspective of racism, based on my identity as an Asian. It was difficult for me to make this story and show it to the whole group, but I felt like it was a perspective that is not heard enough and everyone has a little bit of blame in the situation.
