When Tuelo was young, she liked to have a lot of fun. After dating a few men, she finds out that she is HIV positive. Now, at 33, Tuelo says she has found the love she was searching for before. In her story, she has a message for young women: "Wait! Find a man who loves and who commits to you. Take care. Watch out."

Sindi says, "Stigma is a great crime against humanity." In her story she tells of the stigma and descrimination she faces as an HIV+ person. Sindi's tale of perseverance and finding hope calls on others to join the fight to end stigma and hate.

Shirley shares her experience and treatment as a deaf woman after being sexually assaulted by friends that she trusted. This story was created in a CDS workshop organized by the Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa.

Mabvuto tells his story of losing both his parents to AIDS, and how he and his siblings have faced many hardships as orphans. He wonders if he can be seen as more than just an AIDS orphan.

When she finds out that she is HIV positive, Kerwele isn't sure what to do. It's difficult to get the information she needs, and doctors tell her she may only have a few years to live. After struggling alone with her feelings of guilt and sadness she meets up with a group of HIV positive people who work together to find solutions to their problems. Kerwele finds hope again, and starts work as an HIV/AIDS counselor and women's health advocate.
