Embedding Story Videos from SFC on other sites

When we first built the site, we liked the idea that viewers would have to come to StoriesForChange.net to see the stories that were housed here. However, as we started to use the site as a way to distribute stories at the end of a workshop, we discovered that folks wanted to place more than just a link to their stories on their blogs, organizational websites, and on maps.

So here's a backend way to embed your stories loaded on SFC in other websites:

Video previews in Final Cut Express 3.5

Just putting a quick tip out there:

I was teaching a workshop this past weekend and got frustrated when a student's movie was not previewing correctly during playback. The still photos showed up fine, but any video clips would not appear at all. The clips had been rendered but still they didn't show up in the Canvas window during playback.

My co-facilitator figured it out: the caps lock key was activated on the keyboard. For some reason, the clips wouldn't preview with caps lock on.

Lesson learned. Check the caps lock key first.  :)

Best File Format/Settings for Uploading Video

What's the best type of video file format and/or video/audio quality settings for a story to display well on StoriesForChange.net?

For example, why does Greg O'Toole's story look so pixelated?
