The group, long frustrated with the bank's propensity to ignore low-income communities like the Northwest Bronx, are protesting the American Bankers Association convention and demanding that Congress create oversight, accountability and common-sense financial reform that helps the people.

In 2003, faced with a budget deficit, the Arizona State Legislature recommended complete elimination of state funding for adult education and family literacy.  The crisis marked the begining of a remarkable learning process about government and civic participation.
