Six youth from the Kino Neighborhoods of Las Vistas, Western Hills, Pueblo Gardens and South Park were chosen to participate in a basic digital storytelling workshop. This is one of the stories. They share their voice to inspire a greater sense of community, understanding and awareness through a glimpse of their struggles and passions.

The short story is about my experiance with mental health problems within families. Of course each family member would explain this in a diffrent way, and in my case would probably never discuss it at all, but I chose to tell it so that others mind find a way to open their minds and hearts.

A group story told by the Diabetes Support Group from Sea Mar Community Health Centers.  They share their stories and the importance of resources to educate and support diabetes education/community resources for the Latino population in a culturally appropriate manner.

This is a true story that I hope will give current cancer patients a little hope. There is a light at the end of the tunnel for some of us. I did not know that at the time - but now I do - it has been six years for me and I try not to think about it most of the time but it is always there. Enjoy what you have right now. I welcome any comments and offer any assistance I can to any of you who are suffering now like I was then. He was a long term cancer survivor.  He taught me many things, especially to truly live throughout your whole life- the many chapters...  

People now these days disagree with young kids just cause they’re young.  I am an AmeriCorps Member and I am trained to educate youth into not abusing alcohol.  But since the youth back home already getting into it or trying the stuff, that’s pretty hard to do...
