Renee Harding created this story about her recovery from substance abuse as part of the Better Questions, Better Decisions Voter Education Initiative prior to the 2004 elections. In it she calls for greater investment in drug prevention as opposed to enforcement. Better Questions, Better Decisions stories reflect attitudes towards voting by populations that traditionally have low voter turnout. This workshop was held at Pima College Adult Education in Tucson, Arizona for GED and ESOL students.

The anguish of civil war and its impact on women in Nepal are the focus of this story, which was created in a CDS special hands-on workshop for Asian-Pacific Islander survivors of violence. Rama traces the journey of one young widow from a place of isolation and despair over her status and the stigma attached to it, to one of hope and commitment to end discrimination against other women in her situation.
